Event Details
As we prepare for colder weather and longer nights, keeping a journal just seems to fit with this time of the year. If you have never kept a journal, now might be a good time to start. If you have been journaling for years, this group will help you learn different ways to write in your journal adding color, perspective, and dimension to your reflective writing. With the help of these journal tools, you can gently but powerfully explore the various aspects of yourself, your life, and your relationships with others. In the Journal to the Self Workshop, you will experience several different journaling techniques such as captured moments, character sketches, clustering, springboards, and unsent letters. This group will benefit people who have never kept a journal as well as those who have stacks of diaries tucked away.
Space is limited to 10 participants. Each person attending this workshop will get a personal copy of The Journal to the Self Workbook. Donations of $20 per person are appreciated to help pay the cost of the workbook and utilities for Sunrise Project. However, don’t let $$ be an obstacle. Food donations for the Sunrise pantry are great also!
Iris Craver will facilitate the group. She spent years studying how to create expressive writing groups under the tutelage of Kay Adams who wrote The Journal to the Self Workbook. Iris enjoys sitting around the table writing with and listening to others' stories and poetry.
